need some help

This is not for a Ford truck but rather a Ford tractor. How does one go about removing wax from a diesel system? My tractor sat for a while after my friend used it last. He put biodiesel in it and it waxed up the filter and now I think it is in my injectors and pump? Do I have to take everthing apart to clean it up or is there something I can put in the fuel and let it circulate to clean it up? Rightnow it is only marginally running. It is a model 2310 3 cycl n/a diesel. I have aready drained the tank and replaced filter. Under full throttle it will not get above 1K rpms. Not getting any fuel. I need to use it soon b/c I have to grade out the backyard for a building. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

BTW it is a non glow plug motor. It starts on its compression alone. And it is a pain to even get it to start right now.

I've never had my truck wax-up on me like you described. I don't know if there is a "de-waxer" that can be poured into the tank to clean out the fuel system.

I think you're gonna hafta take her apart and clean. Hopefully, someone here will chime in with good news. If not, have your friend help.

The only thing I could think of would be something to heat the fuel as it leaves the tank. If the fuel is hot it ought to melt the wax, I would think.

Have you tried any of the Diesel 911 stuff. If it will run there has got to be something you can put in the fuel to clear out the wax.

I was kinda thinking the same thing, but didn't want to say it out loud.

Your friend should be cleaning out the wax while you offer encouragement from the rocking chair. His ice-water will be near you. While waiting for him to finish cleaning, you drain the required amount of your favorite beverage.

The wax needs to reach `84 degrees to begin to dissolve and become liquid again.

You have to get the tractor inside and warmed up, drain everything you can. Add fresh fuel and fuel filters, then let it run. The new fuel will flush out the injection and pass any wax.

...And you'll probably want to change out the filter again. Your friend is buying these supplies for you, right?

If not, doesn't sound like much of a friend.
