What would you do?
My question now is, since I'm sticking with rebuilding my original 4.2L V6, what extras should/could I do to add more horsepower.
My truck is a '97 F-150 single cab, 4x2, 4.2L V6. I am only using this truck for fun, no dragging of course, but I would like some added HP and/or torque. I have a budget of roughly $5K. I really do not know a whole lot about engines, but I have friends who are going to help. What would you do?

Add nitrous. Since you say it's just for fun you could have your motor preped for it. This could be the most fun of all but have a daily driver as backup.
I love turbos.
I mean I really love turbos
. The question is: Is there a turbo kit available for your motor? I really don't know and haven't done a search to see. But it's a thought.A blower? Nah.
A chip/tranny/exhaust/intake/nitro. That may be alright.
IMHO.
