I have a 79 F-250 with a 400M. Could I swap in a newer 460 with fuel injection if I got all the goodies to go with it?, And has anyone done this before??
I'm just tired of the hard starts and lack of power when the engine is cold.

before you give up on that 400 check your dist mech advance. most of the 351m 400 have way too slow a mech advance. I have been recurving them for years and it can make a whale of a diff in power and milage. KB

 

How would I go about checking this??, I have a basic under standing of how eveything works, but I need a little help here.

thanks that help out a bit, I might give that a try when I have some extra time.

Sounds interesting, its hard to find shops that really know what they are doing. I have had the worst luck when it comes to getting work done to my truck. Thats why I try to do everything myself if possible.
