I want to put a 1969 429 Thunderjet into a 1979 f150 4wd truck. What all is nessacery to accomplish this swap? The truck has a 351m in place at the time. The 429 is in the car too. Will the oil pan from the car fit the truck?.,manifolds?,motormount perchs? Any help will be app. Thanks
The stock frame towers will work. You will need motor mounts for the swap. Check here [link:www.performanceunlimited.com/customproducts/enginemount.html| Engine Mounts] You will also need a rear sump oil pan, pick up tube and oil pump. I used the front sump pan when I installed the 460 in my 79 4x4, but my truck is lifted 4". The rear sump is needed to clear the front diff. You can get a rear sump pan from L&L, Performance Unlimited, junkyard(from a newer truck or van) or from Ford. Either truck manifolds or headers, IMHO L&L's are the best headers for the application. Check here [link:www.landlproducts.com/ultraflowBronco.htm|Headers] for the headers.
