Going from two to one fuel pump do-able?
Helping a local bronco owner out- He has a 89 bronco with the two fuel pumps. He want's do do away with the two pumps and just have the single high pressure pump in the tank as my '90 has. Other than bypassing the second pump on the frame, is this possible. He has told me that the wiring is different he has three wires and I have four wires. Any help is appriciated- bob

The only problem is the lines from the tank to the front are not as stout as the lines from the hp pump on the frame to the fuel rail. It will work, but its eazy to get a leak. Also, the rubber lines will swell alittle when you first turn the key on which reduces your fuel pressure a little. Then It takes a little longer to start. What happens when you turn the key on, the fuel pump turns on for about five seconds, then stops. When you crank, it turns on again. Normally, it would start with the pressure from the five seconds. But because its down alittle, it has to wait till you crank a little. This is the situation I have because I changed tanks.

Ok, He replaced the line with nylon line. Only thing is he doesn't want to remove the second pump on the frame as he is working outside and it's cold 3*. He asked if he can leave it on temporary until it warms outside up a little. It is the high pressure pump I wasn't sure if that would create too much pressure??- bob
