I was wondering if LMC was one of the sponcers to the group and if not how can we go about getting them to sponcer the group the have a lot of the hard to find parts for our effies. just wondering thanx Earl W. AKA bigearl1369
As of my last look, LMC is NOT a sponsor of FTE. I found though Dennis Carpenter, Blue Oval Truck Parts (BOTP), National Parts Depot (NPD), and Mac's. are sponsors and have pretty good part selections.
As for getting LMC to sponsor FTE.. I have no idea how to get them to do it. Maybe bring it up with one of the administrators.

Karl
Ford Dealer parts departments that are FTE sponsors.
DIRECT FORD PARTS (Gaudin Ford-Las Vegas, NV) & Y2KFORD PARTS (Millennium Ford-Seattle WA). Both offer discounts off the ACTUAL Ford list price to FTE members.
A few of the FTE sponsors that sell NOS, used and reproduction parts:
BLUE OVAL TRUCK PARTS / MAR-K / AUTO-KRAFTERS / MAC'S ANTIQUE AUTO PARTS / NATIONAL PARTS DEPOT / BRONCO GRAVEYARD / HOT ROD'S CLASSIC TRUCK PARTS
GREEN SALES sells Ford obsolete parts / MIKES TRUCK SALVAGE sells used parts.
lmc is not a FTE sponsor, and AFAIK, Dennis Carpenter isn't either.
lmc gets a lot of free advertising here on a daily basis from ppl recommending them, and don't know that they are NOT an FTE sponsor.
Their selection is no better than anyone elses's is...and they are a middleman, buying from Peter and selling to Paul, raising the prices in the process. Some of the "stuff" they sell is Made in China crappola.

Let's take a sep back before we start to slam the aftermarket providers, I could send countless number of thread that have complaints about "US Made" guys, who make crap stuff...Carpenter included...
LMC, Brothers, Macs, etc., etc., all out source to foriegn folks for thier stuff, make no difference...99.9% of the "aftermarket" guys who have stuff for a pre'90 truck will have 75% of thier inventory from over seas.
Don't believe me? Fine, just ask Mac's (FTE sposer) to make you a set of steel running boards for your '49 F1...
"Oh My",.... "that's a lot of money", yeah...that's why they aren't made here in the good old US-of-A, cause you'd go broke trying to outfit your rig...hence the "Cheapo" stuff made overseas...find a pure USA supplier of parts that will give you :
Just so you know, MAR-K makes our parts in Oklahoma City, USA. Our parts are for customers who want QUALITY PARTS, that are made here in the USA.
We keep advertising this, but for some reason it does not seem to come across to the public. Why is that? We would like to have some suggestions as to how to get this information to the consumers.
You can respond in this thread or feel free to PM me.
ONe of the aftermarket places I went to had "Made In USA" on parts..
I/e they would offer say:
Door **** 4.95 Made is USA
Door **** 1.95
Same part application, and it's obvious the 1.95 part is sourced from somewhere overseas.
Depending on your inventory of parts, you could do similar...or...put something in your name such as
MAR-K Products
Made with US products and assembled in the US by US workers
I've seen this line (or similar) before.
Good luck, BTW, I have sen your prices and quality of parts on a few trucks before, very topnotch quality and there was nothing in the pricing that scared me either.
You guys should have come out west to the Turlock Swapmeet, Carpenter, TCI, the Truckstop and a few other larger aftermarket suppliers were there...I even sold a few axles to a guy from Oklahoma (Guthrie I think...droppedaxles.com)...Ya could have hitched a ride with him

Understand, I`m only speaking for myself. And also in no way am I
knocking your or anyone's products, quality, or prices. - Far from it.
But, I`m a Ford guy, and when I look at someones parts catalog,
and the first thing I see is ch***y parts and then more ch^^^y
parts, and the catalog has 50 or more pages, and I have to look
really hard to find a page or two of ford parts, It sort of turns me off and I seem to always go back to the old standby parts houses that has
at least as much or more Ford parts as ch###y.
I`m only offering one persons reaction to the above. I`m also sure
ch@@@y guys feel the same about catalogs they open and find a ch&&&y
part listed with a lot of Ford parts. Please, again, there is nothing personal
in my comments.
mark the first problem i see is you have a lot of dress up parts not to many replacement parts like the stuff that rotts off the truck like the seals around doors and windows liked your site though. as you know we here at FTE are in all stages of builds. i know for me i got lucky and got a pretty straight truck but i need things like heater switches for the dash, cable controls weather stripping, anti rattle kits stuff like that i'm sure i'm not alone in this. some of your prices are pretty high like the roll pan. but all in all you have a good site
i will be buying products from you when i get to that stage of my build.
thanx earl

Reason: spelling
I know it's been a couple of weeks, but I've wanted to respond to Mike's comments. He's right about carping on aftermarket parts. Much of it is made over seas, but not all parts are made equally. Maybe it'd be better and more productive to post positive remarks. I.E. Earl, I got weather seals for around the door, seals for the windows (as well as the wing) and windshield and back window seals. All as a kit from BOTP for a very good price. And the fit and quality was the best I've found so far.
FYI, Mar-K is awesome. I purchased an entire bed wood kit for my previous F100 truck...wood was awesome, lasted all four years I had the truck. Anyway, just my $0.02.
LMC is alright, just be careful what you buy from them. Summit Racing is awesome in my opinion though. Got a LOT of stuff from them, from carburetors to wheels and tires...
Dennis Carpenter is good. I've purchased from them before. They make QUALITY reproduction Ford parts, and stand behind them.
mar k is good in my book now that i got ahold of a catalog i retract my earlier coments way to go blue oval truck parts buying that roll pan in a few weeks thanks
