If you get lucky may find one in salvage yard in decent condition which happened to me couple months back. Few years back happen to come by another Hood for my other 65 thru ebay. It was on a whim, set it up where I would get an ebay email when a seller in my area, set up for 50mi radius, was selling a 61-66 Ford item. On I occasion appeared seller was parting out his truck so emailed and inquired about the hood. So happened he did, not posted, did not want to deal w/ shipping. Anyhow, ended up buying it.
Maybe it's time that those of us in the N.East put together our "wish list" of rust-free sheet metal needed...and a SouthWest member could arrange a bulk shipment out of a junkyard. If we pooled our needs, and split the cost of the truck freight, maybe it'd be affordable? Imagine the rust free radiator supports, hoods, inner fenders, etc.
Non rusted or dented hoods are still fairly rare out here, and a slick in a yard is a rare thing anymore, all 80's and 90's junk now. Finally scored a replacement for my rusted hood last week, been looking for a couple of years. Just need a better 65-66 short wide bed now....
The slicks I see in the yards are usually pretty rust free. I have a spare hood behind my garage. It has some subpar repair work on the front edge and the support rib the hinges blot to is tweeked.

Has anyone on FTE ever looked into this?
I"m all for that. I could use a hood and a pair of front fenders.
