Fan Shrouds?
I'm curious whether Ford put fan shrouds on straight 6's? I've got a '79 with a 300 - I don't think it came with one. Would it have? I don't see any listings for 6-cylinder fan shrouds in catalogs. My buddy who is a Ch*vy guy was saying that bow-ties don't have shrouds on their 6's, so it got me curious?

My 84 F150 had a little "half shroud" over the top of the fan, I think it was mainly to serve as a guard so you don't accidentally put your fingers into the fan blades. I installed a full shroud off a 92-96 truck with a 300, seems to help it run cooler at slower speeds. I don't think the 70s trucks had shrouds.

My '81 had one of those "mini" shrouds on it. It was about 15 - 20" wide and about 5" deep and simply said "CAUTION" on it. I don't have it anymore because I got stuck in the snow and I had my socket set but no shovel. It got me out, but it broke in half.

My 78 doesn't have a shroud. It doesn't even look like there is a spot to mount up. No screw holes where you would assume the shroud attached. Talking to several guys I work with who had the 70's 300s back when they were new, none of them ever remember a shroud.
