Auto..uh..trans..uh?
What year C4 or C6 transmission will bolt up to my 250 6cylinder motor? I have a manual trans in it now, and definitely want an automatic. Please give me details because im not too familiar with transmissions by ford, and find them a bit more confusing than Chevys. I would also like to post a picture for another question...is that done easily?...if so please help me with that as well, thx

It was never installed in a F100/350.
1965/74: 240 or 300 I-6. 240 discontinued after 1974.
These two engines used the C-4 transmission, a few 300's used FX Cruiseomatics.
No C6's were used with 300's till 1978.
Now, if you is bare bone$ on this, that's one thing. If you are a little more flush, consider an AOD from the latest models before AODE. There is plenty of propaganda here including what years to watch for. Early ones are dogs, so watch out. TCI only uses 88-93 cores, so them are the ones to look for if you hunt one down.

Good luck.
