I did the rear hatch strut replacement/conversion today.
02 X 4x4 and used the 2wd struts. Clearence went from 69.5 inches to 74.0 inches. Great idea for those taller ones of us.
Struts were about an inch longer.
$42 delivered off ebay, rockautollc was the seller.
Also did the longer wipers.
Next up is the rear Hellwig 7643 sway bar.
Thanks to all.

02 X PSD 4x4, just bought it
Went with the 24" on the front and 18" on the rear.
They work great but the old ones were ***** to start with.
Got the expensive $20 each ones, contours?, from Oreillys.
Wife loves driving it now.
I didn't know that there was s difference between 4wd and 2wd struts. I have a 4wd and I'm 6"3" tall and have to duck a little. I should try different struts.
I'm guess the reason there are different struts is so a short person can reach it on the higher 4x4.
4X4's sat higher so they made the glass lift higher so people could reacit easier and to help keep it from hitting roofs in garages. You cn put the 2WD struts on the 4X4's for extra clearance. I'm 6'3" and have to duck as well so I've been wnating to do this mod for a little while.
I bought 24" wipers when I first bought my truck a year ago, and just went back to stock 20s and the difference is rediculous. Im very upset about going back down to 20s, but I bought the very expensive ones as well, and theres no returning them now.
Simple yet excellent mod; did it myself when my stockers crapped out and really like the difference, I'm barely six foot and it was a little too close to my noggin for comfort...

I ordered some from the dealer last week, they should actually be in by now, got them for about the same price.......been wanting to to this for a year now just kept forgetting.
24" & 18" is the way to go
My lift supports pooped out last weekend in some very cold weather during a family vacation. Of course they decided to go while loading everything up. They couldn't wait a half hour. And they totally went. No sorta holding, maybe we'll help lift a little. Nope, they expired completely.
I tried several local vendors with no luck and found them on e-bay.
"Mr.Lou's stuff (lift support depot)" $35.00 and quick shipping. 99.9% feedback with 12,000+ sales.
It took fifteen minutes to replace both sides. About as easy as changing a wiper blade. I got the 4X2 models even though I have a 4x4 and I'm so glad I did. I have a good bit more head clearance now. Before, I was constantly bonking my head on the liftgate. Now I can walk right under it.
For the longest time I drove around with a softball in my utility bucket( flashlight, thermal blanket, fuses, flares, medical kit, ect) I keep in the back. It was a perfect fit. So for all of those who are waiting to replace a softball is a nice fit to hold it up.
