I'm sticking a 460/C6 into my 70 Ford F-100. It had a 400/C6 already installed by the PO. I have factory engine mounts from a 73-79 truck, they bolted right in. I also got a front sump, truck pan (it is just a little deeper than a car pan, and has the oil drain on the side to clear the crossmember.
The engine is a 77 460 out of a E350. It had a rear sump pan, but was damaged and needed to be replaced anyway. It had a dipstick tube on the pan, the new pan does not have provisions for a dipstick tube. So, what to do about the dipstick tube?
Also, I'm haveing some trouble locating the right pickup tube and oil pump for this application, anyone have an idea on what oil pump and pickup I need?
Thanks

If your front timing cover does not have a spot for the dipstick tube or you cannot put a tube in to your timing chain cover you will need to change the timing cover to the front sump style with a spot for the dip stick. As for the oil pump pick up I bought a melling hivolume oil pump and it came with a bolt on front sump pan pick up tube Eric
