I just posted this ?? in the exhaust section but want to catch u 460 guys too.Just bought off e-bay a new set of hooker Super comp headers,chassis exit for my soon to be 460 in my 1979 4X4 Supercab.Really nice header...thick flanges,1 7/8 pri. tube.:7 Then i look at instructions & it says to use the matching Hooker frame mount kit
Has anybody used these headers with the stock frame mounts??
Should have done a little research before i bought these.Thanx for replies.

I was watching those headers also. But back to your ? i bet you do need there mounts. Because the l+l mounts and advanced adapters like i got use the stock 351/400 frame perches where as i think the hooker ones have different perches. So clearance may be an issue.

u like the advance-adapt mounts ??That was going to be my choice until i ran into this problem ? I still might . I don't mind a little hacking of the oem perch.Have welder.....can fix the world.

Engine isnt in yet but they look good and seem strong. They say you need to use limiting straps with the 460s torque. But thats no biggie plus the fact that my freind at the parts store got me them for $79 bucks only is cool. Itll be about 2 more weeks till i know headers and clutch are so expensive lol.
