my cousin was looking at this truck and showed it to me, it isn't a real harley edition is it? i don't beleive so, i don't think they made a 99 harley truck, you can tell it has redone seats in it, the badges and headlights are both off a 05-07 superduty...and the interior looks tan to me not grey like it should be..... any help here? to prove to him its fake, and i want to know if its an early or late 99, could anyone be able to tell? i can't w/o seeing motor..thanks guys
Yeah, hard to say. Did they even make the HD's in 99? It looks like a lot of customization on that truck. I would be dubious of it being a HD. It does look nice, but it also looks very modded.
yeah i don't think they made them in 99 either, thats what got me thinking, and then i started looked and questioning other things.... outside looks good, the inside looks like total crap
Looking at the pics, its pretty clear. Bad carbon fiber on the 99 dash, the cluster is not digital, and what's up with the power mirror switch?? Not to mention you cannot get a harley edition with that style of seats. same as king ranch, there will be a center console with a logo (harley or KR).
It's not a bad conversion (looks ok inside, good outside), but it is OVERPRICED! if your friend is smart, he'll walk away from it.
The only thing Harley about that truck is the seats. And even then you can't really tell if they're authentic. The real H-D's have a unique instrument cluster and I believe the whole dash/interior is black on true H-D's.
Like PowerStrokeHD said, '04 was the first year for the H-D option.
No harley lights
no harley bumber cover on front
no fully black interior
no harley gauges
no little harley logos on the painted dash panel
no buckets
no center console with the limited harley production number of the truck
harley never had a 7.3 in it
harley was not made until 2004
harley never made a dually
that 4x4 logo was not used on the harleys
no chrome tow hooks that the harleys came with
all harleys had power mirrors
and im sure some other things im forgeting...
these are the dealers i have fun with... the ones that know nothing about what they are selling.
If hes wanting a harley look else where other wise it seems like a nice truck but be careful with that odo reading. seems too low...
