04 Crew Cab Chassi Cab problems.
By the time I put 36000 miles on the truck I had gone through two sets of front rotors and two sets of brake pads which were all Motor Craft and installed by the dealer ship that I ordered the truck through and buy all my other vehicles at.
So after the factory warrenty was up I order some slotted rotors and hawk heavyduty brake pads from an online store. I love them they made my truck stop so much better but not as good as my dad's 04 f350 srw crew cab 4x4.
We ordered his truck in November 03 and mine in January 04 both 6.0's. I know his truck doesn't weigh as much as mine. But even when you put 2000lbs in his truck it stops better than mine does empty.
I took my truck to the dealership to have an oil leak looked at and found out it was something on top of the engine and they had to pull the motor to fix it. While they had it I asked them to check the rear brakes and make sure they were working. I know back in the 90's they had trouble with some proportionary valves on chassi cabs because there sprung heavier in the rear than a normal dually and they don't set down as much with a load so the valve wasn't leaning as much on the chassi cabs has it was on the regular dually's which made it not send as much stoping power to the rear brakes. But they said they don't have those valves any more. But my truck doesn't stop like it should. I have had no problems with the rear brakes other than not helping the truck stop.
Just wondering if any one has had this problem.
