Temp Sending Unit

I'm experiencing temp fluctations - from my prior posts, you can tell that I've replaced about everything... Just one question, I've got an Eldebrock aluminum intake - would this be more sensitive than cast and cause the temp gauge to swing more quickly than stock?
Am I crazy or does this make any sense?

Temp Sending Unit

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-May-02 AT 11:40 PM (EST)]Nope. Is your cooling system full? If you have trapped air/air pockets in your system. It will cause the needle to peg then drop as the air,or steam is much hotter than the coolant. In a well sealed system this air cant get out either. Iwould recomend running it with the cap off in your driveway for at least a half hour keeping the rad topped off. That should get all the air out if this is the problem. Infact on the lovely toyotas i happen to work on everyday {hey our sister dealership is ford though} we often have to raise the front end up about a foot higher than the rear to get these air pockets out.

Good Luck Andy
