I knew someone would have to ask.... 
In the depression era in the 1930`s gasoline wasn`t affordable so the vehicle`s power train was removed and a hitch was installed for using horses to pull cars & trucks.
I believe that these were named after our Prime Minister at the time, a Mr. Bennet.
And heck no, I didn`t know him personally!
Check it out during Pionera Days at the Western Development Museums.

interesting. gas keeps going up it might end up being there. of course with the price of grain we won't be able to keep horses either so its back to slavery... i say we use the terrorists...
