Hey guy. So I was driving and all the sudden the gas pedal hit the floor. I stepped on it again, nothing. Stepped on it again, and it accelerated for about 10 seconds then hit the floor again. Now it's just limp. The cable is still connected to the lever where the pedal is. I didn't get a good look at the cable in the engine compartment, it was dark and I didn't have a flash light. I can't find anything on it in the manual, but you guys are much better then a manual anyday! So I probably broke something, right?
Well I think you have to check under the hood 1st, take the little plate off the throttle body and see how it looks up there. The cable is like a ball and socket. The throttle cable gets pushed ontop of the ball on the throttle body, so I could have came off and when you let off and stepped on it again you might have caught it a bit. Let us know how it looks under there.
If it is still connected at the throttle body, then get someone to press the throttle as you look at the TB. If it's not moving then it the throttle cable. There aren't a whole lot of components that go with the action of the Throttle. Best of luck to you!
Humm, did I say what you said lol? Chris, off topic a bit, get the shift kit, that advice is GOOD. lol
Yup. I was talking to her on MSN. Of course I went into a little more detail, showing her a picture of the throttle body and where to see if the cable popped out. And you just said the same thing without the extra details.
Hello boys! I fixed it!!!! The cable had come "undone" by the throttle body. You know how the cable sits in the little metal holder where the spring and the cable connect? Well it had come out of there. I had to bend the little "wings" that hold it in place to make it stay in.
