Hey guys! Love the forum! I have a few questions. I just bought my first Ford truck, and it is a 99 F250 V10 reg cab 4x4. I will post pics when I upload them. I just got the truck Friday, it has 88k and I got it from the original owner. It has the Banks Power Pack also. I paid $6500 for the truck, does that sound like a decent price? Anyway enough BSing, here are my questions...
The truck has an ABS light - its a hard ABS light and what I mean by that is it comes on right away after starting the truck and doesn't go off. I have done the search but I haven't noticed my symptoms in any of the other topics. I don't think its a VSS sensor as my speedometer works 100%. Also the light is on all the time.
Second the truck has a brutal brake pulsation. The owner said he has had this happen to him numerous times since he bought it. I have reciepts from the dealer for at least one of these occurances. My question is - what brakes/rotors does everyone on here put on their trucks? What do you guys recommend? I have a hookup at a Ford dealer and can get parts at 10% over cost + shipping. I'm leaning towards genuine Ford stuff, I usually go OEM on all my stuff.
Anything else I should look at or check over before putting this on the road? The truck's an automatic and i checked the fluid when i bought it and it was nice and red. Are these trannies pretty decent? Seemed to shift fine while driving home...
Anyway sorry to be long winded, I've always wanted one of these and am thrilled to have got one, I just want to make sure its 100% before I put it on the road etc. Thanks in advance!

Welcome!
What does "receipts from the dealer" mean? What do they say? Did they fix anything? If so, what?
yea they just put rotors on it or something... but that when it was under warranty... hasn't been there in forever i would assume. I was just wondering if the rotors on these trucks were known for warping/rusting?
Went to check it out... found that rear VSS is within spec for resistance, master cylinder is a little low but only right below max line. Also checked balljoints and pulled all four wheels and checked brakes. Need 4 wheel brake job and the right upper ball joint has a little play. The other side is fine.
And my Banks exhaust is all rotted out. Needs new headers, y pipe, muffler and tail pipe! Horrible exhaust leaks comine from where the headers meet the y pipe. These headers don't look like they are going to be any fun to remove either! Ugh! Hopefully banks will warranty the exhaust.
he put it on the first year he had the truck... so i'd say sometime late 99 early 2000. I have sent the tech support guy at banks some pics and an explanation I will let you guys know what i hear back from him.

Could we see some of those Banks pics? Since you aren't the oringal owner I doubt if Banks will do anything. Rust may not be a warranty item anyway. Best of luck.
Did you check the ABS sensors on the rotors before you put it back togather. If the original owner let the rotors get down to the metal he could of grinded off the ABS sensor. I dont know if you have the extended rotor in the front like I do but they were very expensive from the dealer. I got some aftermarket ones but their hubs were just a little too big and my alcoa rims are a problem to put back on. Other than that they only cost me $135.00 each and I have not had a problem with them yet. I have about 20,000 miles on them.
