tail lights not working

tail lights not working
my 78 f-150 4x4's tail lights work...part of the time. sometimes both tail lights show up sometimes only one, and my brake lights do the same, it seems like they rotate which one's going to work for that night. i have replaced the lights and still have the same problem. could this problem be caused by a bad lights switch? thankyou for any advice on this.

Glad to see you found it. I had trouble with the taillights & rear side marker lights. Mine ended up being the wire right after the gas tank on the frame. I think it is a pretty common prob with wiring that is this old.
