Here in Dallas, Paulding County its snowing, got about 1 1/2" so far and hopefully more by the morning. Anyone else here in GA that is getting the snow?
Well I haven't driven it in the snow itself yet, I really don't leave home that much but thanks for the idea I will go on the snow tomorrow and see, I need tires so it might not do so well.
I wish I could convert it to a 4X4.
I have always thought about converting to 4wd. What kind of tires are u going to get? My back BFG's where bald and my front ones werent. It did terrible in our first snow storm. Then i rotated them and now its alot better.
Here in Bama, almost had my grass go white before it stopped...predicted 1/10 of an inch...my 4 yr old seen the snow/sleet and asked "dad, I thought you said it does not snow here"...I am from SD and we just got back from Christmas where it snowed over 10 inches while we were there. By the X, it was 33 at 545 and 35 at 1000...i was hoping for so much more....

I'm gonna get 285's Goodyear Silent Armor, after some research I've found that these are the better application for me.
I wonder what's involved in the conversion and if its possible and how much $$$.
Ive looked it up ( love this truck to much to get rid of it). My buddy said he can get me a wrecked donar x 4x4 v-10 for cheap. I figured i can use the truck for spare parts and stuff to. Still have lots of more info to look up.
Converting to 4x4 is an extreme waste of money. Just buy a 4x4 and swap stuff around to get the perfect combination of Excursion you want but built upon the 4x4 platform.
It's easier to change the engine than strap on a X-fer case, new tranny, new driveshaft, front axle etc.
im in ne tn and we have about 3in. of ice and snow. took the x out at 5am to check roads. x did great but i dont think the fedex van will do as well might stay home today
In Marietta (15 miles n of ATL) we got just enough to stick before it switched over to rain, it never stuck to the roads here...maybe an inch if that. I sure could go for 10-12 inches like they had in '93 that would be awsome...as long as we didn't loose power!
I live in Dallas Ga. and I left work in Marietta last night very disappointed that there was no snow left on the road! just rain!..............DRATTS! ! !
