Drain Hose Windscreen Air Dam 83 F100
I have an 83 F100 with 390, 4 speed and 9 inch. She goes nice but has a little rust in the usual places, firewall, roof etc. I have been told that the air dam \ grille plate beneth the windscreen has drain hoses that are susceptable to blocking up (with leaves etc). I have been told that the drain hoses drain near the door hinges but I am unable to find them. Does anyone know where the drain hoses come out? I want to help with the drainage to stop the water seaping through the seam in the firewall \ engine bay and creating more rust.
If anyone has any other tricks to minimise the rust in the firewall I would be great to hear them. From what I can tell the air dam is sealed and there is no way of getting in there.
Cheers

They aren't really hoses, just foam flaps. One easy thing you can do is to remove the cowl panel and get down in the sides with a vacumn and get all the crud out that you can. If you want a thorough cleaning, you will need to remove the fenders so you can get to the flaps. I did the vacumn thing, and later when I did my clip swap I got to clean them from the bottom. I was amazed at how much junk I had missed before. I pulled handfuls of dirt, leaves, and bullets out of the drain pockets.
