Yall forgive me if this is a silly or redundant question...but I am curious if a block heater is a standard feature on the 7.3?....not sure if I really need it here in east TX but should the occasion happen that I do, would like to know.....and where would I find the plug???

The block heater can be deleted from an ordered truck but is standard on the diesel. Should be a plug behind the grill and runs to the side of the motor I think on the drivers side in a casting plug hole. I hear the cord is replacable and may be missing too, not sure mine has never been detached. I did have a hard time finding mine too behind the grill at first. Look from under neath??Good luck

P.S. Mine starts down to -10F without it, but it's noisy as He** unless I use synthetic down that low!

 

Look by the oil filter, if you see a (I believe) an orange cable going in just above the filter, you have an engine heater. Then trace it to where you can plug it in..

It is usually laying in the bumper, reach in the opening beside the driverside towhook it should be a 3 prong 110v electrical plug usually has a protective cover on it.
