Oem Shock Life Span?

can anyone tell me how many miles that ford suggests that we can get out of their oem shocks on an 05 f250 6.0.

I believe Ford uses GAS SHOCKS so they should last for a long time. I have run gas shocks for many years & 10,000s of miles. I have a pair of Comp 9000s that have been on my 1986 F250 4x4 since 2003.

I had ball joints done on my 03 in early 06. At the time I had it done the tech suggested a heavier duty shock because of the 6.0L engine and it would extend the life of the new ball joints so I got em. He didn't make anything on them because I bought them and he put em on so I'm pretty sure he was giving me his honest opinion.

Three of my factory , junk rancho shocks , when compressed wouldn't pop back out , the forth was ok , at 25k , easy , all street miles !

They do not suggest it because it depends mostly on vehicle and road condition. I have had Motorcraft shocks last between 30-50k miles, on the same vehicle! Go figure.

they are good until you see them leaking then they need to be replaced
