EBPV not functioning ?

I cleaned the EBP tube and cleaned the EBP sensor.
what else can i check to see why my truck does not make that wonderful jet engine afterburner sound.

I don't really want to buy a new sensor without making absolutly sure my sensor is bad and it not somthing else.

1. crawl up on top of engine (with it not running of course)

2. look for the EBPV actuator rod (beneath babies butt on left side of pedistal)

3. check to make sure the rod is actually connected to the valve

4. try to move it back and forth with your hand. ( if it moves then the valve may be broken.)

5. make sure you always start the truck in your stock setting

Ok , the rod is connected and it does not move by hand. can not get much leverage on it at the angle i was in but felt pretty solid.

I thought the sound was normal. I replaced my line and sensor last week just for the hell of it.

Lower ICP or something I am not sure about. Just know that Jody said in the winter that it is best to run the truck in the stock setting until the engine is warm. Good enough for me. I am pretty sure that is where this comes from.

Are you having issues just while idling or while driving?

I noticed mine started to take a little more pedal while driving to open the valve up as my turbo up pipe leaks got worse. If you don't have any up pipe leak ( I would be shocked ) then there are tests to pinpoint the cause. There are a host of components interacting for the EBPV to open and close.

You could disconnect the solenoid on the EBPV at the turbo pedestal and see if it instantly opens up. If it doesn't, it is stickng or binding. And I would focus my troubleshooting starting there. If it opens up when pulling the electrical connector there, it doesn't rule out that part, but then all the tests will need to be performed on that system.

good luck,

Austin

Issues are just at Idle on the cold mornings. EBPV don't activate any longer.

Ill crawl under truck and check for leaks in the UP-pipes, and disconnect the solenoid here some time today and see what works and what don't.
