How to remove power window assembly?

I've had enough slicing my fingers on the door sheet metal. How the heck do I get the components out of the door? I've got the door panel off, all that plastic sheeting pulled off and a clean look at the motor and gear assembly, but cant figure out how to get it out. Everything seems to be held in place by those funky split rivet looking things. Do I have to drill them out then rerivet them?

I'd like to pull the gear out to see if that is what I need to replace, but it looks like the motor has to come out with it. Window rolls down with ease, but doesnt roll up. The motor makes noise like its at full power, but nothing is driving the gear to roll the window up.

I just did this last summer...had to drill out the rivets...I used nuts and bolts to put it back together...had to play with the torque on the nuts to get things flexed correctly...I had same motor sympton...new drive gear fixed it...got the gear at autozone....expensive...about $20 if I remember correctly....still cheaper than a new motor.

Thanks man! I've got me a project this weekend. Defrosting the windshield on the inside is no fun with that door panel off.
