boost flutter

I had mentioned this in another thread but i think i was misunderstood. That and it was on another subject so it sort of got pushed aside.

Basically, my boost gauge functions nicely, i hit about 25-26 at WOT. However, once i get up there above 15 or so, the needle moves real quickly between the numbers. For example, if im at 20 lbs of boost, the needles moves real quickly back and forth from like 19-20. the lower pressures are usually fine unless im on a hill for long periods at about 10 psi or so, then it will do it there as well. Do we have any ideas to this problem/

Thanks guys

That's about as close to surging an early '99 you'll ever hear about.

Nothing wrong, just the turbo playing catch-up with itself.

You can visually inspect it, rub it, caress it but don't take it too far!

IMO, you're wasting your time. Like I said, "that's about as close to surging an early '99 you'll ever hear about."

They just don't surge, that little fluctuation you see now and again is will be about it. Nothing you'll ever hear or feel.

i would build a boost leak checker and look for leaks..but thats me..my ealry turbo never surged..not even close till the bearing went bad ..i pulled my brothers 35ft 5th wheel camper up many mountians around here and i never got any surge.. but thats me..im fussy when it come to my truck...if it didnt surge before..then it shouldnt be now..if fixing the boots helped it for a while..then id be looking into it more..
