Cab ?

I have a 50 f-1 and it has some "cancer". I found a 51 or 52 f-1 cab that is in better shape. Are the cabs the same? I know I read somewhere the inside of the doors are different, but is that the only major difference?

The doors are the same (minus the fact that the vent window locks are slightly differant). The major differances are the dash/gauges and the fact that the 51-52 has the large rear window

The cabs are different:

1948-50

1951-52

The cabs can be mounted on any '48-52 truck, you just have a different dash and rear window. Below the body line they are the same.

The doors are slightly different, the '51-52 has inside arm rests and outside passenger door locks on the Five Star cab but the door fits all '48-52.

Check out the chart I have for interchanging parts:

How bad is the cancer? If its not that bad i would go for the restoration on the 50 cab. I think thats what this is all about...taking something thats been wrote off as being no good and making it a respectable vehicle. My cab had some serious cancer, all four cab corners and pretty much half the floor, and both doors need repair, and thats not even the front clip.... Anyway i know this isnt about the 51 cab but its my cents on the 50 cab. Im not sure how the 51 would fit but i wouldnt think it would be that different but i dont know. Good luck with whatever you chose.

..........LOL....this is from a different thread with an ongoing rivalry...

If the truck has a pretty grill, then its a 48-50
If the truck has a completely ridiculous buck toothed grin, then its a 51/52

Welcome to the board!!
Bobby

Not bad, if it was up here it would go for at least twice as much. Nice street rod foundation.
