My 97 F-350 4x4 Crew never gets past the line that makes the bracket over the word NORMAL on the gauge. I have let the truck run sitting still in the heat of the summer for hours with the air on and it will just move off of "C". The heat blows hot and all things work normal. I know that the truck needs to make some heat to operate in a normal mode (Fule timing , heat expansion in the manifolds for the turbo....ect.) Just wondering if all things are OK
The stock gauges are very inaccurate and more than likely it just the gauge reads low. but if you have not changed your Thermostat do what Ryan said go with the 203 stat from here http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=186
ok thanks will do that end of week when I get $$$ I never changed it yet and I have had the truck since july. I keep a very close eye on things I have a gauge on everything in my truck including the master cylinder so I know my brake pressures When towing and its easy to spot a leak while driving when the pressure drops.
If your going to change the thermostate you might as well order a new housing as well, chances are the old one will leak after you take if off., it's just a stamped piece of metal.
I don't recall if the thermostate comes with a new O-ring gasket or if that is ordered seperatly. Best to ask when you order.
