wiring

I just put a 390 in my 67 truck and did all the wiring and i have went over it again and again. The battery wires are getting really hot when i try to start the engine. I can't figure out why. The only thing that isn't done yet is the ground from the engine to the frame could that be my problem.

Yup, no ground to engine is not a good thing. Remember, the motor is rubber mounted, so it's desperately looking for a ground for the starter.

Ground cable from - battery terminal to block

Ground strap from engine to firewall

Ground strap from body to frame
