OK folks, I thought I'd throw this out to my fellow LA chapter members.
Below are a few pics of my new truck (Silver Lariat). I put dark grey stripes on it to color coordinate with the flint accents in the interior. The stripes guy wanted to do black.
Now that they've been on for a couple months I'm beginning to think he was right. My exterior paint is Smokestone - a silver grey that also has a gold/tan undertone. In shade, the stripes look great. In the sun, often they disappear - not enough contrast I guess between the two grey/silver colors. The photos show what I'm talking about.
So whadda y'all think? Leave 'em gray or redo them black?
Can't really tell you - the entire deal we did:
1) racing stripes 2) 2-door decals 3) replaced OEM pinstriping down both sides of the truck. Original was tan (YUK!)
Entire package was $304. Didn't break out the price for just the two stripes.
No, not at all. Especially since he really had to work when he got to the roof thanks to those ribs. The vinyl just wouldn't lay right so he eventualy had to cutout the low part of the ribed roof. If I go to black I won't make him do that again as i plan to have a moon rof put in shortly. Just maybe go a few inches in off the front and back edge of the roof.
