460 MAF
>If so is it possible to convert a 89 460 (EEC-IV) from speed
>density system over to a MAF system
Well, yes, I guess...The 1996 and 1997 California F-250s and F-350s with 460s came with MAF systems and the EEC-V ECU. I own one, bought it used from someone that moved here from the left coast.
The 49 state versions were all speed density. Also, the Cal versions had 24# injectors, did not use exhaust manifold air injection, did not have an engine air pump, did not have that restrictor usually found inthe intake air pipe, and they used a single king sized 3" in-and-out catalytic about 2 feet long.
Too bad they didn't build them that way in all 50 states.
I have no idea what might be involved in doing the conversion, but all the parts you might need are off the shelf Ford truck parts (or off the junkyard).
I use my F-250 mostly for hauling and towing, only today I drove 250 miles hauling 4 tons of hay on a 2 axle flatbed with it.
Hope I helped, let me know if you need more information.
