Hey guys I just finished the conversions with little to no problems thanks to all you guys. so I just wanted to say thank you for all the help to those that helped me out, 427SOHC, daveengleson, bliss1, Putt, Rouge40, sgreen, garbz2, jhooch, customcab66, and last but not least thanks to jowilker for the help and dealing with a bad teenagers attitude through this swap. lol. but i got pictures up of the swap so all of you that helped me check out what you helped to make!
I envy you disc brake guys; I must omit Tatonka04 (Chuck) has given me the front end from a 72 donor with disc brake; got everything but Master cylinder. I do have a question; does the disc calpiers fit inside normal 65 model drum rims?
Depends if what you have are the Stock 65 innie type rim. Most add a 3/8 inch spacer to alleviate it or run Wheel Vintiques Stocker innies on the fornt and back. The new Units for WV have the late rims to clear the calipers on stock type centers. The later outie types will clear.
no i haven't driven it yet, im told its like night and day. but im pulling the valve covers for powder coat. i was told that if you powder coat them chrome then put a color of your choice over that once its cooled that it comes out like a candy color. but the only question i had concerning the swap was that i have the original rims that came with the truck and the hub caps too. the ones that say "ford motor company" on them. once i was done with the swap i found that the hub caps dont fit anymore because it hits the dust cap when you try to put them on. just some future info if anyone runs into this with there project. but if there is a way to get the caps on, if anyone knows how, that would be great to know cause i really want to keep them.

Reason: forgot something
Make a piece to bring the hubcap out just enough? How close is it? Maybe you could just make the dust cap smaller (i.e. carefully hit it with the ol' sledgehammer (oxi-moron)) and just get it to fit...

lol. then i would have a smashed to crap dust cap. i dont know how i would make it work. but id say it comes out about a centimeter to long.
I've read the conversion described by Mark J. Covill and everything seems pretty straight forward except for the caliper brackets. Does anyone know which caliper brackets are used in this conversion? Somehow I thought the Chevy Impala brackets were used, but I can't find that in the article now.
I hope I'm doing this right because I've never made a posting before.
