How to adjust rear brakes
Just replaced my brake shoes and am wondering how to adjust them.
I already got them close through the adjustment access hole.
Do these adjust further with the e-brake handle or with backing up and braking?
I did a search and found BOTH recommended in one thread??
Thnx.
tight and then back off until wheel spins with little brake drag.
have to seat the shoes in since all rear shoes for Aero are organic or semi metallic. 10 hard stops from 40 mph to 10 mph in succession, release brake between each cycle...park and let brakes cool off.
check adjustment by same technique above.
brakes will not reach full efficiency for 50 to 100 miles.
e brakes last, adjust for even cable pull on both sides.... 2 to 3 clicks up until full lock
self adjusters on Aero seldom work right and i don't rely on them for my passengers safety
