Transmission gremlins???
Well, I want to pick some of your brains. This last week we got a ton of snow in Northern Ca. So on the way to work I had the truck in second gear at about 20 or so miles an hour. My commute starts at 1300 feet and goes to about 4500 feet then back down to 1200. My trans got up to about 160. No biggie but the outside air was 20s to 30s. Next morning fired up the truck to go home. After all got warm My trans was acting funny like the converter was locking and unlocking at about 35 miles per hour. It did this in second gear, drive and overdrive. On the way back over the hill temps got to about 160 again. I necer see these trans temps this time of year. But when it got that warm it quit doing this. The last two mornings the roads are dry and it hasnt done it since. When it was acting like this the road were slushy and snowy and wet. Sorry for the long post but wanted to give full details. I was thinking cooler bypass plugged. Or convertor going south but it hasnt done it anymore. Trans and torque convertor have 20k on rebuild. Oh I put dp back to stock and all was the same.

I confess that I can't see what you think is wrong. The temps look fine. At 35 MPH you are right at the speed the torque converter will lock and unlock, so a minor speed or go pedal variation will make it lock and unlock.

I was towing a small car CRX at 35 over a pass and over heated my trani. due to blinking OD light and mess underneath. didnt' get temps on my gauge cause it was showing boost. 178k on tranni. OD was off while pulling the hill in 4 wheel drive and snow. turned the truck off and that took away the blinking OD light. codes were over heating tranny.
