I've not done this yet but seems pretty straight forward. Are there any tips or things I should watch out for? Any other things that I should replace while I'm in there?
O yea, It seems like carter makes the pump no matter what name is on the box so just go with the lowest price. Look at the part of the pump that bolts down to the motor. My pump that said carter on it had spacers on it that were NOT needed on the new carter pump I got. The pump I got was not machined as deep at the base so I did not have to take the spacers off the old pump and use them on the new one.
One of the most helpful things I had on hand when I did mine was a little extendable magnet. It took out bolts I would have dropped, picked them up when I did drop them, and made it easy to drop them in. Bending the wrench for the banjo bolt was a great tip also.
