My drivers side caliper is not releasing after I let off the brake. When I apply the brake it does not pull to one side or the other. Am I looking at a new caliper or doing Guzzle's slide pin replacement?
Is the early 99 part number different than the 2C3Z-2C150-AA?
Thanks in advance !!
I would just pull the pins and lube them up good. Only if they are bone dry and rusty would I get new sliders. The last time I had brakes hold up on the rotor it was the right rear and I bought a rebuilt caliper for something like $60 after core swap, the sliders were freshly lubed up before the calipers locked up. I think the piston was not sliding smoothly in my case, due to a bad boot seal. Don't bother purchasing a caliper rebuild kit, they are almost as much as rebuilt caliper!
I've ran into two that hung up on me, one on the car and one on the trk. The problem turned out to be the flex hose for the brake. what happens is the hose gets a blister on the inside, it lets the fluid in, but wouldn't let the brake fluid go back to the master cylinder and makes the caliper hang up.
