I was just at the dealer looking for head gaskets for a 06 6.0. He asked me for my vin #, saying there was a different gaskets for different build dates. I thought that I read on here that there was an "updated" gasket at some point. Wouldn't all 6.0s take the updated gasket? Or where they just trying to get my vin so they have a record that head gaskets were purchased for that specific truck. The guy had an attitude after I wouldn't give him my vin. I also asked if he could go by a build date, wich he did but not very willingly.
The part # for the gaskets I got is 4c3z*6051. Is my thinking on the gaskets correct or not? What are your thoughts?
