Best batteries?

Looking to replace my batteries was wondering what everyone suggest for cca and such. I see the thread about those group 31 batteries but that’s beyond me, just looking for the best replaceable batteries.

Gel Cells are always the way to go i'm told.

I have a traditional style deep cycle duralast in my truck, and I enjoy it. Really saved me a few times i've left the lights on.

Auto Zone has a Gold Series, 65 DLG, 850 CCA, 1000CA, with 3 yr. free replacement for approx. $80. NAPA has a commercial series group 65, 950 CCA, 40 month free repalcement for approx $100. These are some of the best warranties out there.

I run Interstate batteries. and very satisfied with them.

quick story - yesterday I was replacing a U joint in a small truck I have (gas saver), I needed to go to town to the parts store. Went to the PSD, will drive it. The last time it was drove was Saturday night, and it is now Thursday afternoon. The dome light was left on. I thought it would never start, but, guess what. It did! I replace the batteries 2 or 3 yrs ago and have not had any problems. I do not know what size they are or any details but I do know they are Interstate. I pulled into their garage and told them to put two fresh of whatever the truck requires. Seems like I paid around $160 for both.

I just got the 1000CCA Gold batteries from Autozone. The warranty is good and the price was right. I don't think they had full charge when purchased however. So a good overnight charge at the 2 amp rate was in order. The engine seemed to spin a bit faster afterwards.

I agree with 96p I hae the red tops too and they work great! No acid leaks corroding up the cable ends no more. I have had mine two years and no problems. Starts the truck at -2 degrees f not plugged in. They were about $250 for the pair so not cheap but you get what you pay for.
