I want o replace my 2000 F250SD and would like to order a '08 model. With the trend of GM raising the rear of the bed I am nervous that Ford might do similar modifications. Why this matters to me is that I have a 3 year old 5th-wheel which cannot be raised any higher and any inch in truck height or bed depth will make it impossible to hook up the 5th-wheel safely. I don't want o buy a new 5th-wheel so I NEED to order an '08. I like to order since this will be mostly my "last" truck as I am turning 66 this year
So if anybody could let me know by when typically the last factory orders can be made at the dealer I would appreciate it. As a "bonus" is there any information about possible set-up or bed changes on the 09 trucks?
Even if they do raise the bed, it won't be for a while. They just did a major body revamp so the next won't be for a few years.
Crazy it sounds, I listened all day to CNBC and FORD is displaying the new F-150 at the Detroit auto show on Sunday, January 12th. Then on Monday night CNBC is showing a special on all trucks.
I agree with Redford, but if the F-150 is a market making change, look for the SD's to be right behind. And I thought I had new truck, new model year, for at least six months!
Ford staying true to form, you should be able to order that truck at least until June. I would say by July(ish) they might be looking at 09's for orders.
These numbers are all depending on whether they meet there quotas. When I was working at a Ford truck dealership it varied between late June and early August. However they can decide to switch the model year at any time.
