HOT FUEL option?
my haynes manual says something about a hot fuel option for the carbureted 460s, and i was wondering if anybody knew what the specs on it were. i have an 89 f350 that i bought for 600, the motor had tossed a rod, and i already had a carbed 460 that i had runnin in my garage, so i thought, hey this will be an easy swap. yea, that was close to a month ago. i replaced the inline high pressure pump with a holley red, rewired the in tank pumps relay so they would not need the eec to run, and now the pressure regulator i have wont hold the pressure above 4.5 psi. so i am searching my options. i think that the regulator is bad, so i was gonna return it, but if i can do somethin else i would rather do that. i was wondering if i could replace the in tank pumps with the ones from a hot fuel 460, or if that would put me at the same place i am now. any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Get an inline fuel filter with a 3rd barb on it. I've seen them at Autozone. I think they fit an 80's model 318 Chrysler. The 85 F250 with a 460 had factory electric pumps too. I believe that they had a metal fuel line in the front of the engine that had a smaller outlet that ran back to the tanks.
