I have been reading since I purchased my Job 1 2008 F250 SD 6.4 diesel Lariet crew cab 4 x 4. I now have just over 5000 miles and had my first oil change.
Knock on wood, (after reading this forum) I have had no problems. I think this truck is fantastic. I drive evrywhere from Manhattan to the mountains of the Catskills to the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina. I tow a trailer with two ATV's so I cannot talk about hauling a 32 foot 5th wheeler but I bet there are more than me who use their trucks for everyday use. I drive a total of 2.3 miles to work and use a remote staret to warm up the truck on cold mornings. I love this baby. It rides like a caddy and handles just fine. Fantastic brakes and when it is hot the air is cold. I believe it is the mother of all trucks.
Is there anyone out there who is as happy as I? If a person who wanted a 6.4 read this forum, I bet they would think twice, but I want to be the first to say,
Bless Ford, they make one hell of truck.

My dad is very happy with his. So are almost all the other people on here. Think about it people come here to mainly post problems. Which I can only recall off the top of my head 2 major ones. Some one said that the 6.4l is acutaly having equal or less issues than the 7.3l. That says enough to me right there.
I have never posted before but I think it,s time. I have a 350 longed I have put on 7500 miles in two months I love this truck. The mileage is lower than I expected but the smooth power is great. You can pick apart any thing that is made .I know I do. I traded in a dodge with a hemi,It was real responsive, but after about twenty feet my new ford would walk away easily. I blew the motor on the hemi at thirty thousand miles. That truck couldn't compare. like going from a vw to a lincoln.way more truck than any dodge anywhere.I almost bought a cummins they wanted the same price as a ford. The cummins might be a great motor. but the ford is a great truck. Huge difference.I wouid have bought a dodge for about have the price.thats about what they are worth. Any way I read the forum for info. I can understand when people are upset about buying something new that breaks.happened to me in a dodge. I know if this truck holds up I'll Be keeping it until it rusts away because it's the nicest truck i've ever driven.
My truck has been flawless in 10,500mi. Nothing to complain about to the dealer when I bring her in for service. For every complaint that you read about here, there are dozens more who are totally satisified with their trucks. I feel sorry for the ones who have the misfortune of buying a bad truck but I believe the majority of 6.4 owners love their's.

Couldn't be happier with mine. Luckily I've been able to keep it off the Salty roads this winter. Just find when I jump into it from our Escape I drive it too fast because I can not feel the speed. Makes me appreciate it more when I have been out of it for a few days. Looking forward to towing season, that is where it really shines.
We love our truck! Its my first Ford truck and first diesel. I have never been more impressed with a vehicle. We have just short of 7000 miles, 1 oil change, 1 reverse back up light replaced, and a pinched wire for the rear window on the driver side that needed to be fixed.
I drive it Friday-Sunday... after driving my nissan altima during the week, I can't wait for Friday to come around!
