Post Engine ID

I have a D1VE-A2A block, DOVE-C heads, DOVE-9425-2 intake, partial sticker on valve cover with 429 cid visable. From all the info I can gather, it looks like a regular production '71 engine. The one thing that throws me a curve is that it has individual adjustable rocker arms. Most '70 model heads had non-adjustable rocker arm shafts. Any ideas ?

Pedestal rocker arms, with shafts, didn't start until '72 (except PI). You have rail rockers, non-adjustable, unless you install adjustable locknuts.

This engine has individual rocker arms on studs like a small block chevy. I just got thru replacing all the rocker arm nuts and two pushrods. The first pushrods were for a '72, they were 1/4" too short. I got the '71 pushrods and they matched the others. That's what is confusing me ( sometimes the alphabet confuses me too ).

That's rail rockers. They're normally tightened down to a torque value with no adjustability. Buy a set of Crane or other adjustable nuts (they lock with an Allen screw, just like roller rockers) for $20~ and you can adjust lifter preload.
