no overdrive on E4OD

no overdrive on E4OD
The E4OD on my friends 1992 F-150 3006 4x4 won't go into overdrive. It used to go into overdrive but it acted as if it was bogging down when it hit 4th. Now it won't even shift into OD at all. The transmission overheated once before and pushed all the fluid out of the seals but it worked good after it was filled back up. It shifts fine in all other gears but it won't go into OD. Does anybody have a clue why?

first, if your friend does not have the trans serviced properly he deserves what happens.
second, the od button wire could be loose, does it show on or off?
he needs to change fluid, filter and drain convertor and put in new fluid, today!
