banned from diesel power stop

I am really embarrassed 'cuz I went to register on that forum as I wanted to ask a question about chipping a Cummins diesel in our school busses and it said that my email was banned.. Anyone else had this problem??Oh well...

Anyway to my original question.. Does anyone know if it is possible to chip them (they are computerized)'cuz the boss always orders the 220 Hp Cummins for our rigs and even though they are turbo,a lot of times with a full load of hs football players in a 40' bus,you kinda want a bit more oommph..We can't seem to get him to tell us why he goes for the standard engine, but gets some of the other options..

I've tried to register on a few forums that don't allow hotmail as the email you use, maybe that site is the same way?

As a person familar with specing school buses I can tell you the main reason for limiting your engines to 220 horsepower/ 540 ft lb torque is so you can use the base Allison transmission and not have to spring the big bucks for the upgrade to the Allison "World" transmission.

If its the ISB 5.9, then even tuners for the dodge's might work, thats a big might though. But 220HP is pretty low. My school's busses use mostly DT466, but there are a few T444e (7.3 PSD).

Curious, whats the provider of your email, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc+?

Your best bet would be to contact the various tuner companies. If available, a tuner for a diesel pusher RV with the same 5.9/Allison combo would probably work in your bus.

Not to sound like your mother but is your bus company on board with this? Without adding the appropriate egt and boost gauge's you could cause some damage to the engine. Or the tranny for that matter. To me, a little horsepower gain in a school bus is not worth getting fired over. However, if they are cool with it a smoke bellowing bus would be pretty bad a$$.
