Unfortunately my leather seats are not heated which was a down fall with the 04 FX4 leather but I don't mind that much. The leather I believe was like $1200. The funny thing is I bought my '04 at the end of the year so it was one of the only trucks left on the lot so I took it even with the added cost. I'm glad I have them though since I have two small kids.

If your FX4 has the self-dimming mirror, your truck has the FX4 Luxury Pkg (86F). The F-150 has so many order combinations that it is almost mind boggling.
Also, SteveVFX4 is correct about the tires. Both Lariat and FX4 have AT tires - I mistakenly looked at a two-wheel drive Lariat. My apologies for passing along bad information.

thanks for everyones responses. i have a general idea of what the difference is. the funny thing is, i have an 06 lariat and my friends just purchased an 06 FX4. we'll be comparing them this weekend. i guess you might find us both underneath each others truck...saying...."ooo you have that...i don't...but then i got this...you don't"...haahaa

yeah, some of those things the FX4 guys listed above are mostly options, not standard. With the FX4 luxury package now with the electronic HVAC and heated leather seats, you can have pretty much everything that a Lariat has.
The only thing I can think of that the Lariat still has that you can't get on the FX4 is the lighted vanity mirrors on the sunvisors as Doogie indicated, and also only the Lariat has the optional universal garage door opener (Homelink) up in the driver's side sunvisor.

I got the luxury package.....schweet, I didn't know that.
Also, my doesn't have any power seats, which sucks for the wife. She is 95 lbs soaking wet and I have a hard time moving these seats sometimes. They are friggin heavy.

I have the luxary package with my 06 FX4 and I have everything the 06 lariat has except the electronic message center that only comes with the Lariat instrument cluster and backup sensors. A ford dealer told me getting the backup sesor option would cost me $700 because the rear bumper would have to be replaced. I got a wireless backup camera from Walmart for $99, it works great!
