I sell and install seats in cars and trucks and the f series bench seats fit great in the 67-72 body style but if you want a better seat, the 94-01 dodge ram seats are the best confort with a little mod to the bracket.
deljac---I have 6 trucks. All are 1956 fords and 1 1971 ford sport custom with 66,000 miles. The seat was shot--and I have been looking but unfamiliar with seats, except that the chevy truck benchs fit in the 56 well.
I have stock seats in my running trucks. So how much work to get the dodge truck seat to fit in my 71? thanks---or is it a near bolt in to use a ford bench.?

Dodge?
You put a hodge podge Dodge seat in your Ford truck = you'll get no more part numbers from me!
Ford trucks seats interchange 1965/96....just watch the width, sometimes the seat may hit the armrest.
originalauto.com has seat fabric, original style foam padding....and new sewn original seat upholstery for Ford trucks.

N.D.--I was and still like the 70s muscle of mop** and not ashamed to say so. I have said many times---I left the 440 6pac roadrunners and began the effie thing-(my1st love) when the mopar thing got so darn expensive. I hope this does not affect our onlineness LOL I only want to get a seat in this 71 soon -as we just sold my everyday truck......and yes---I put a 383 and 727 auto in a 56 ford truck as my 1st truck and wish I had never done it,as I sold it later for mega bucks. I would still have it today if not for that......live and learn........Bill-exmopar man
Yes I tried and everyone that claims to have the original red and herringbone tweed style seat cannot come through......I have an original in my 56 F600. and even though they were in every 56 I have seen as stock--are hard to find nice.....Bill is you back ok---mine is better, but cold weather is hard and I am numb with nerve damage, and pain still in leg. Do you feel ok? Wish I could beat this!!!! Bill
yes i did, can you tell they are dodge seats? no. do they fit perfict? yes. do they look great? yes. not much is stock on my truck anymore so part numbers not so critical, sorry ND.
I'm all for upgrading the brakes, but that's about it. I like things the way The Deuce made them.
One thing I've seen on this site is everyone wants everything for their restoration yesterday, and have a hissy fit if they can't find the parts after only lookin' for a coupla days.
It took me three years to find all the NOS parts for my 1965, and this was back in 1981/84!
A friend looked for 10 years for a white padded dash for a '57 Bird. Everyone else used the blue one Ford still supplied and then painted it. Not this guy, he wanted a white "genny."
I finally found him a NOS one in a Ford dealers attic in 1977. The dash had been in that attic since October 1956.

I know i had seen a early 70's ford pickup with factory bucket seats years back, I dont remember if it was a sport custom model, but always heard only sport custom models had this option. but wasent sure myself when they first came out in pickups, so i just looked through some old dealer brochures and found that bucket's started in 69, the 68 brochure did'nt show them available.
Now in the 1969 brochure # FDT 6910 8/68 interior section heres what it read's (Quote) BUCKET SEATS, with foam-padded cushion and back for custom and ranger cabs add sports car flair, individually cradled comfort. all-vinyl seat trim, fuel tank cover and carpeting are color coordinated to exterior paint.
1970 brochure shows new sport custom model. so 70 is the first year.
now while i'am looking through brochures here is what it reads about bucket seats for 1970 in brochure # FDT 7010 8/69. (Quote) BUCKET SEATS, with foam-padded cushion and back add a car like flair to sport custom, ranger and ranger XLT models. attractive all-vinyl parchment seat trim. carpeting and back panel covering are included.
I Hope this info is interesting,
Here's a '69 F350 that the seller states has the original buckets. Looks good.
they look like a set that i took out of a 1976 F100 4x4 i had bought in 95. not sure if they were origional seats i think someone added them in. there ended up being so much hidden rust in the cab i parted it out. but i still have those seats in the barn, from the brochures it looks like 69 was the first year for buckets, but number dummy (bill) mentioned in a post that they started offering or making them available in pickups in 65. maybe it was one of those things you had to ask the dealer about if you wanted them.
