Transmission fluid?

Transmission fluid?
I went to the Ford dealer today to get some trany fluid for my truck and they said I needed Mercon V. I got 20 quarts so I could flush mine, but I am not sure if this is the correct fluid? Truck is a 03 250 5.4 V8 auto. Thanks!

Ford issued a TSB that says to start using Mercon V in all Mercon applications, as they have discontinued Mercon. So go ahead and use the Mercon V that you bought.
I don't have the TSB handy, but if you do a search in this forum you should be able to find it.

Thanks for the help. I just got done with the flush and it did help. It seems to shift smoother, and the shutter is gone so far. I should of done this a long time ago, and the truck only has 63,xxx miles on it. Pulling off the return line is the only way to go on this project! Before it I only changed what was in the pan, now I am able to change all of it. Thanks again!
