1997 Pwerstroke computer

Unhappy 1997 Pwerstroke computer
I have a friend with a 1997 F350 that died several times while idleingor driving slow. Then the next day it would not crank. They had it towed to a mechanic they know. First he said it was the cam sensor, then it was a $400 computer that shorted out and now a $822 computer has shorted out. And this is all in two days and hasn't left the mechanics yet. Any ideas or similar problems

Hey Perry!

I see you posted in the 97-03 forum and that is fine. If it's a diesel I'll need to move it to the diesel section. Let us know so you can get top notch help.
