I am in the process of rebuilding my turbo as posted before....
And the shop is giving me a Banks compressor housing and the banks 1.0 exhaust housing.
Is there an actual difference with the banks housing. It is a 1.0 housing as well, but uses a different Garrett part number. I assume it’s not different enough not to need a Wicked Wheel, so I am having him include one in the rebuild.
Stock is .84, the 1.0 will help reduce EGTs a little. The WW will help reduce surge, if you can get an ATS ported intake housing you won't need the WW. But, you'll like the sound of the WW.
From my readings, cause I am about to do the same thing. Rebuilt turbo with the Banks compressor housing, Big head westgate and I think a new wheel also is all part of there "KIT". was told its an up-grade from stock but not a crazy up-grade. which is what I am not looking for.
I will post when I get mine done, but won't be till after I get my tax return. but I am sure there are PLENTY of folks in here that have already been there and done that. just wait for them to chim in. that is what this great site if for.
