injector problems...

my buddies 97' f250 has the cel on and i pulled the codes with a cheap code reader, came up with these codes, P1316, 1395, 1396... i know the last two are for glow plugs, but im not sure what the first is for. and when they had it plugged into a fancy diognostic machine it said the "pulse width out of range on injector number 7" anyone know what this could be? thanks

well they said they replaced those when they changed the glow plugs, because that was my guess too, they said they ohm'd out the wires and things checked ok, this is just what they have said, so that could be the problem, id have to check that myself..

Check for burnt pins, and if they just replaced them, that even makes it more suspect IMO. If a wire was touching a rocker it could wear through over time and and ground out, I would ohm out the number 7 injector pin to a ground and if it does not come up open you found your issue. You won't even have to pull the valve cover to do that.

They must've broke the connection when they "fixed" it.
